Vitamin B12 injections
Vitamin B12 injections are recommended for patients aged 18 and older to boost energy levels, support metabolism, and enhance overall bodily function, promoting general health and well-being.
-
Other than to boost energy levels, B12 injections are also recommended for those diagnosed with Vitamin B12 deficiency (patients with malabsorption, pernicious anaemia, Crohn’s disease and similar, and those who’ve undergone gastric or bariatric surgery).
-
If your B12 blood serum levels are below 150 pmol/l, we advise you to see a GP as you may be eligible for B12 injections on the NHS – but if you’d like to use our private service we are happy to help you as well.
-
Patients ineligible for this service:
pregnant or breastfeeding patients
those with cobalt, cobalmin and derivative allergies
have low blood potassium levels
are undergoing cancer treatment
those who have cardiac arrhythmias
if you are not diagnosed as deficient and had a vitamin B12 injection less than 2 months ago
-
When you come in for the consultation, our pharmacist will conduct a risk assessment to determine if it is safe for you to receive the injection.
Once we confirm there are no contraindications or reasons to postpone, we will proceed with administering the injection.
Additionally, we will provide you with safety advice and ask you to remain in the pharmacy for 15 minutes afterward to monitor for fainting or any adverse reactions.
-
Out Vitamin B12 injections cost £40, and consultations are free.
